Description

In commencing this renovation the interior was completely stripped back and all unnecessary and dated embellishments removed wherever possible.  The interior designer opted for a clean pared-down look whilst intrinsically working with the client’s eclectic heirloom furniture pieces.  Existing doors, archways and scotia were removed and replaced with full height doors throughout to evoke a sense of space and to add the value of height.

Stunning French style black lacquered doors with bevelled glass inserts rising to full height and dark stained oak flooring in the entry and passage way certainly sets the style of this apartment and makes for a dramatic arrival.  A floor to ceiling mirrored wall conjures a sense of doubling the entry space.

The guest bathroom and ensuite reveal absolute luxury, with polished porcelain tiles, dark chocolate marble inlays and clean solid lines.  Bespoke vanity units complete the look.

The existing 1980’s kitchen was replaced with new black lacquered panelled cabinetry and Carrera marble bench tops with dark stained oak flooring.  All was drawn together with a striking deep colour palette for the walls.

Existing bedroom spaces were made sufficiently larger with the removal of an internal glazed wall between both of the bedrooms and the conservatory style space surrounding each side of the apartment.  New full height sliders were installed for privacy to the bedrooms, however these still allow for an abundance of natural light to filter through whilst not competing for space when open.

The carefully positioned halogen lighting was installed throughout the apartment to allow for an ambience of light and shadow to play off the various surfaces both new and existing.

The transition between the existing furniture and the new refurbishment is seamless, suggesting a sense of elegance and classic calm.  The final touch of rich, dark and full window treatments provides both privacy at nightfall whilst enveloping the space with a strong masculine feel of warmth and drama.
